Silence.

Pride Ed

I found God in
an abandoned house. Rays
slicing through old dust
like a knife. The same
window where she prayed
for impossible things.

Her cries as sharp as that light.
It shines through her unhappy memory,
and I stir up her shrieks for
peace and forgiveness in
the creaks and cracks of the
floorboards as I walk
behind her frail vision.

Only when I stop I find
what we wanted Him
to be and I never dare step foot
elsewhere, for I've just
found serenity here among
the forgotten, solace in the silence,
and the ultimate salvation of being alone
with my thoughts.
