Peter Pan

Do not hope for him
Do not hope for his shadow

For he shall not come
He will not save you

He lives in dreams
Children's dreams

They hope for him to take them away
To Neverland, where you never grow up

Always being chased by pirates and Indians
The threat of death lingering in the hot air

Drunken pirates to kidnap fairies
Indians who heal teddy bears and smoke from a pipe

John, Michael, and Wendy Darling
Stayed at home
Imagining him up from dream

Hope and dreams are unwise to have
You begin to seem crazy

My dear fellows
For he shall not come for you
Nor will his shadow

Hope all you want
But he won't come
