Once Upon a Midnight Dreary

Amy Faltot

18 Aug, 2016 11:01 AM
Alone in my own shadow, waiting to find a single day
To penetrate this foggy atmosphere, I fear I'll find decay
When the clouds have parted, will I find that I'm a damaged soul
Or some wooden walls I rest while submerged amongst the soil?
Still attempting to establish the ground I stand upon but finding cliffs
I'm too tired to rebuild foundations so I sleep on rocks and sticks
That's all I get, cause my brain tells me I deserve way less
All I need is a bullet in the center of my chest

I tried my hand at alchemy to make myself a heart of gold
But all I got was arteries collecting copper and molten boring holes
Inside my veins, I'll paint a faint depiction of my body now

Death

Sam Emmerton

26 Mar, 2014 07:19 PM
As i sat upon those dank old stairs,
where i met a man who wasn’t there,
With cold dead eyes and a toothy grin,
He held my hand as thou light grew dim,
He whispered in my ear and took my pain,
And made a deal as it began to rain,

My soul to take i did offer the,
But instead he sat me a top his knee,
you will live forever for what you have done,

and strive to be the man you should become,

Death

07 Apr, 2015 01:05 PM
Why do you fear me?
I am your friend.
I but guide trav'lers
Rounding the bend-
Lead them to freedom
From time and age,
Help them start writing
On a new page...

Seek for me never,
Keep your course true-
When I am needed

The Sage

Almog Ramrajkar

25 Dec, 2014 06:19 PM
Slipping into eternal endlessness,
My sacrifice rightfully accepted.
I feel free and weightless,
for flesh and bones now forever rested.

Disconnected from the world of living
I pay no heed to its desires.
Chambers of the mind now free beyond believing,
which once infested with grim layers.

I travel with the swift wind,
the corners of the forest within my reach.

Death is freedom

madz

31 Dec, 2014 03:43 PM
this life is like an industructable cage
full of sadness,aggresiveness and happiness
all of the emotions gather here
that it will drive you insane
there is no other way out
rather than death.

thats why today
i look for the key earnestly
the key that will lead me to my death.
where did i found it?
at my side, the bowl that i use for eating.

I am Dark Death

Richard Sortman

21 Mar, 2015 12:36 AM
I am the Kiss of Death.
You cannot resist me,
I steal upon you in the night.
No one can save you now.

Deep in the Shadow's,
That no mortal can know.
I am Fate.
I am Death.
You cannot hide from me.

I know all the hidden places,

I'm unsure how this came to be

Jack Sorenson

11 Aug, 2015 10:01 PM
I'm unsure how this came to be
Lighting will strike more than twice
The Tree becomes brittle and the sole dies away
The roots die sprouting up shoots some were further away
New life will rise in the sun one day

So why do you ask that I'm still here today
Same as why the shy shines its brilliant blues
And it soft clouded of powered whites
As the sun will sets down to bed every night the same
Its time revealing its decadent nature learned to embrace life
And learned how to cope with death

Burying the planet

Rishabh Batheja

03 Aug, 2016 06:45 PM
Suite 1

Dissonance, envy, wrath
we humans are consuming each other's soul
the soul of the very planet
that keeps us afloat
I am the past
bleak is the present
from future come the shadows
to gulp our serenity
burying us alive
beneath our so-called homes

The Mirror

jerry harrenstein

14 Apr, 2015 10:14 PM
I was awakened this morning
by what I thought was the aroma
coming from a Turkey being roasted,
but it was only the fragrance emitted
by my wife whom was lying next to me
and she's definitely not a Turkey.

I rolled over, gave her a kiss on the
shoulder and it could not have felt
colder.
What's with that?
Was this my wife's way of giving me

Shelly

Her name is Shelly
and she comes from
the dank, dark depths
of New Delhi.

People say that Shelly
is a woman scorned
and that is why I want
all men to be forewarned!

Many a victim say that Shelly
is over 2,000 years old
